Start with your walkway

Cleaning your walkway can be done using the pressure washer. You can also repair your pathway or driveway if you have damaged pavers or cracks and holes in your driveway. If you see any paver that is sticking out, you can remove the piece and clean the dirt. You can then put the piece back. For cracks and holes in concrete or asphalt pavements, you can fill them with crack fillers and or concrete.

Work on your front door

Check your front door and see if there are any seasonal stripping. Clean the gaps in your before you tighten the hinges again. You might see some hinges loose because some woods tend to compress in the cold weather. Make sure everything is tight. This will help keep the warm air out of the house. The warm air you feel inside your house in the summer is mostly from loose hinges and loose windows.

Prepare your windows

Check for any gaps in between the windows and seal them. Also, check if everything is working fine by opening and closing each of your window for a couple of times. To clean your window, you can use a vinegar-ammonia solution which is a mix of 1 cup vinegar, 1 cup ammonia, and a gallon of hot water. You can use this to clean your windows. After using the solution, you can finish up cleaning the windows with another gallon of hot water. You can dry the windows with a squeegee. It is advisable that you do this on a cloudy day so the vinegar-ammonia solution will not dry up quickly as it will leave streaks when it does.

Make your fence posts sturdy

Check whether your fence posts are still in good condition by giving them a yank or two. If they are not, then you can replace them with new ones. Also, replace posts that are rotten or warped. This will give you more security in the summer and keep unwanted animals out of your property.

Recondition your driveway

Your driveway goes through the seasonal changes without any protection whatsoever. This means that they will also need some retouch here and there, especially when the season changes. You can give your driveway a seasonal check by checking for cracks or holes that have appeared over time. If you see some cracks or holes that need immediate attention, you can seal them away with easy to use sealer and crack fillers. It is also advisable that you seal your driveway with sealants to make them more weather resistant.
